Hispanic Scholarship Fund 
Ed is currently the President of the Hispanic Exellence Scholarship Fund (HESF).  Since 1984, HESF has helped build a tradition of excellence at CSUB by increasing access to a college education for academically excellent, under-represented students who demonstrate leadership.

The fund has supported nearly 1,400 outstanding students from the local community with scholarships totaling $2.5 million. Many of the students are among the first generation of their families to attend college.

Betty Ann On Foundation
Ed serves as a Board Member of the Betty Ann Ong Foundation.  The advocacy of the Betty Ann Ong Foundation serves to educate children to the positive benefits of lifelong physical activity and healthy eating habits and to provide opportunities for children to experience the great outdoors so that they can grow to become healthy, strong and productive individuals.
